That's one of the best entries, you are great, i like it, but the problem you miss a thing, you must at least use one of the picture crestock gave you, and this picture MUST be the central/main part of the artwork you did, i mean, the city is a just a foggy background, the main aprt are the U.f.o and the beach

Thanks for the positve comments guys and to Dario, I realize the city is not the focal point of the image but I thought that, that didn't have to be the case only that one or more of the images were used and recognizable within the peice.
Fantastic

feeling the tones, feeling the theme, feeling the picture! you have my vote. the problem might be, like someone already pointed out, that this works as a art piece but maybe not on this contest. we will see. I hope I'm wrong, this looks really good!

well the fact that its 'inspired' from another source .. war of the worlds ... isnt really original .. dont you think ? you did a good job mate , dont get me wrong .. but im sure the judges look for original concepts.. not something re-created/duplicated from something else... dont you agree ?

Well, then perhaps I shouldn't have said that but I'm pretty sure almost every idea everyone has had here is somewhat inspired by something they've experienced, seen or read. It's not like a i copied an exact scene from another source (eg. books or movies). My focus was setting a scene that I saw fitting and integrating the elements I chose. I mean the local I totally my creation there about four different shots in there that make the environment. I didn't just slap the buildings and a couple droids in an existing shot. But it's simple and subtle since my aim was seamless integration. I do also realize that there have been quite a few entries going with a invasion theme of sorts with is not unique in its self but so what. Anyhoo point taken but I'm not too worried about it.

hey man , sorry but i can tell you got stirred by my comment.. and by all means that was not my intention. What i do wanna point out is, using inspired work means you are taking someone elses idea, theme , whatever and using that as a backbone . hollywood cashed in on novels like LORD OF THE RINGS ... it was made into a movie ( and it rocked !! ) but true credit really goes into JRR TOLKIEN .. not Peter jackson ... I honestly think you did a spectacular job on it ( and steven speilberg woulda hired you on his pre-production theme if he had seen this art !!! ) .. but truth is ... its a cop out,... not trying to bust your bubble hear bro , i m pretty sure the judges look for that originality based on concepts NOT derived from existing sources . And yeah there are so many Bots and invasion themes for this round which is totally cool ... yet, mediocre.

Actually I don't care that much, just felt like saying something. But your points are valid. This was going to be my first round image but I missed the cut off time so had to make it round 2. Would have had the only invasion themed image in round one. Was a little disappointed to see so many in round two do the same basic theme. Oh well still got 2 rounds left.
