exceptional

wonderful job with the scale and grade of lighting and contrast here. my favorite aspect of your work is the clarity of the stars behind the atomspheric clouds. really almost haunting, and mirrors the flashing/sparkling light theme you positioned in the foreground. i find that this piece resonates with me because of the story line supporting it.

thanks

i appreciate your comments...and kudos on picking up on the headlight/starlight connection. i opted not to point out too much upon posting in so that the viewers might find these things out for themselves. i will add, though, that building out the car from plain 'ol terrestrial to truly atmospheric was a challenge. the starburst high-beams were built in to further illustrate this concept. thanks again.

i'll call it coincidence. but thanks. i got in early, so woud hope my entry is not judged differently because of the likeness of a single element.
very realistic

the dimensions are specatcular. is the sphereic thing up in the sky a moon or planet? interesting. . . the more you look at it, the more things you find.
great piece

detail

thanks for your comments and votes. you're right, there is more detail in the linked larger version, but some still drops out at that scale! i've linked here to full-size magnifications of some parts you may not notice in the reduced versions. for example, look into the headlight. there is very faint "glassing", even more evident in the base of the red beam. http://stugriffith.com/CSCdetail.jpg
