awsome work man.
OMG AWESOME ARTWORK
By Krivko on Sunday, 9 December 2007 11:00 PM
As title says: OMG! This artwork is so awesome I would like to buy it. As an old Pink Floyd groupie I'm already wet between the legs ;)
It would look so "in time" on the wall in one room I've been re-decorating with my boyfriend at the moment.
Oh, like the color in funny saying too. Anyway - I like it! 'nuff said! Contact me!

By Jose on Monday, 10 December 2007 8:14 PM
Very nice picture. How did you make these little white dots in the background?
To Jose
By Killer_B on Monday, 10 December 2007 9:09 PM
These dots are part of photoshop's basic colored paper pattern. And that's pretty much all that's left from it.
Sick

It will look really cool as a background on your new 30 cinema display.
Im sure Dave Grohl will use it for his new album cover ;)

Thanks for the votes and comments guys.

I grew up in the 60's and could just see Eric Clapton playing this Guitar. Anytime you get the chance could you send me the complete picture?? I have a special place for it.

Thanks
By Killer_B on Tuesday, 11 December 2007 9:00 PM
Chris Jones: I guess you can't win them all

Fred Hilnbrand: I'm glad to see someone who is "old-school" commenting on my work. I guess you can truly see what I wanted to show with this image. You can download full size image from the link in the first comment.
By GPR on Tuesday, 11 December 2007 10:19 PM
Hmm, it's not bad. Feels like it's lacking a little something to me. But the composition is interesting.

By funzor on Wednesday, 12 December 2007 8:21 PM
You can make it by yourself. Just crop it to your resolution.
By sad on Wednesday, 12 December 2007 9:09 PM
funzor you can't just crop the image. he would loose the guitar or the caption.

By majasulc on Thursday, 13 December 2007 6:28 AM
This competition looks great. Is this happening every year? I like your work by the way :)
By batman on Thursday, 13 December 2007 9:53 AM
This picture is already on my desktop. It's just hard to see icons on it though.
By darth on Thursday, 13 December 2007 10:21 AM
40th vote from me. Good luck :)
By ninchy on Thursday, 13 December 2007 3:50 PM
You should do non-wide-screen version of this picture for my desktop :P
1/2 hours work?
By Dork on Thursday, 13 December 2007 7:50 PM
O.K. so this took you like what 1/2 hour.
I mean you basically just took:

A cheesy line!
Next!
By limL on Thursday, 13 December 2007 8:25 PM
@Dork, I saw Killer, when he worked this picture. I know, he didn't use any template or background.

//Killer_Bee, I voted too :)
By Killer_B on Thursday, 13 December 2007 9:09 PM
Thanks for support limL and everyone else. I guess Dork doesn't have the eye for the details.

I can assure you the only stock photo I used is the guitar. I'm sure the judges will check winners original files. The background is actually default photoshop background which I modified.

Thanks again for votes.
By Wuzzup on Thursday, 13 December 2007 9:22 PM
"I saw Killer, when he worked this picture"
"//Killer_Bee, I voted too :)"
~ So you are getting all your friends to vote for you!
And, regardless of whether you used outside stock, it really does boil down to that simple a formula (three basic elements on a boring background) There's no creativity, or skill required.
By Killer_B on Thursday, 13 December 2007 9:37 PM
Wuzzup: limL happened to be near when I was creating the image. I guess some of my friends know about this picture. But what can I do about it? Should I call them all and say they better not vote for me, because they know me?
envyattack!?
By Tya on Thursday, 13 December 2007 10:28 PM
Guys, stop bullshiting! ;) What do they make wrong, if vote for friend!?
I voted too! Nice picture with nice »motto«.

//btw, I dont know author :)
By Killer_B on Thursday, 13 December 2007 10:42 PM
Thank you for the vote and nice comment Tya.

I understand them all. When it comes to art, there are many different opinions. You can never please all of them.
For all the sore losers out there
By squeek on Friday, 14 December 2007 1:25 PM
Stop Whining...of course everyone is having their friends vote for them...duh. Name one artist in this contest that didn't tell their friends and I bet they are lying. The truth is if your art is good, it will get noticed by the judges. If not, it will get rejected regardless of the votes. So please stop trying to discredit the entries..it makes you look so shallow and jealous.

As for this piece, I think you did a great job. It's a very nice composition no matter what tools you used or didn't use. Who cares at least you didn't plagiarize like some people.
By robbiealba on Friday, 14 December 2007 6:34 PM
I agree with squeek. Very nice wallpaper Killer.
By tomaz on Friday, 14 December 2007 10:24 PM
I guess you did a right thing choosing these dimensions. Wide-screen displays are getting very popular.
By Samek on Saturday, 15 December 2007 10:11 AM
Cool picture man, hope for more of that.
By silvija on Saturday, 15 December 2007 10:43 AM
Wow...this image is even better than guitar hero.
By tejchy on Saturday, 15 December 2007 10:52 AM
I like the whole concept of the picture. But I would rather used more vivid colors instead of brown. Than again if I think about it, hard rock is about brown and red color :) I guess you're good to go.

Good luck!
By emilly on Saturday, 15 December 2007 11:40 AM
I think this work has the best composition here. Almost all other pieces have center composited elements which shows exactly how experienced artists are they.
By alicia on Saturday, 15 December 2007 5:24 PM
Cool little circles. I'm voting for this one for sure.
Icons
By neo_matrix on Saturday, 15 December 2007 9:33 PM
If you put your icons on the top right corner you can have this picture for your background.
By LeonMiddle on Saturday, 15 December 2007 10:01 PM
:Dnice picture for the desktop
colors
By nunes on Sunday, 16 December 2007 10:15 AM
tejchy: i think colors are just fine. if he'd make them more brighter this image would look the same as all other images. i like it because the artist really tried to do something different than all the others. he used very nice composition and it makes a great desktop wallpaper.
Details are important
By shadow_psd on Sunday, 16 December 2007 2:20 PM
I want to say something about this picture. I think nobody noticed next things.

The composition of the primary object (the guitar). Nobody said you have to see whole guitar in the center of the image.

I love how you mirrored the guitar and showed us the edgy part. I think the guitar has 2 sides. One is rounded and is considered calm and maybe a bit dull but the other side is sharp and wild. It really shows the hard rock attitude. This effect is also used in the caption where you can see hard distorted edges.

The one thing I didn't quite get it were the circles. I thought they don't really go with this image. But when you look at it, you can see they derive from the guitar buttons and knobs trying to devour whole guitar.

The shape of the guitar leads you through to the message of the picture. The only thing I would change is the opacity of the caption. I think it attracts to much attention.

In the end I think this picture has a lot of potential and could win this competition.
nice wide wallpaper
By Zero_7 on Sunday, 16 December 2007 4:59 PM
Great picture. I used it for my desktop background.

Only 1 thing is not so great ->
By Zero_7 on Sunday, 16 December 2007 5:03 PM
Oops, I lost the last snetence in previous post:

"Only 1 thing is not so great ->
By Zero_7 on Sunday, 16 December 2007 5:26 PM
OMG, I used wrong HTML symbol (2 times) :)

So, I just want to write this: Only 1 thing is not so great(on this picture) - I had to move icons to the right corner.

Amen. :)

I'm a rocker for all of my life and this image kicks ass.
By mblight on Sunday, 16 December 2007 9:32 PM
I think this competition is a joke.

I like this picture and I'll use it as my desktop background but I don't really know if you can win Killer because of the self-voting of leading artists. I hope you do.

I like it...hope judges will too.
By cosmo_ on Monday, 17 December 2007 10:28 AM
Why did you use brown color? If the background would be green the picture would get more votes for sure. But then again, it would be the same as all other pictures with bright colors.
By sssr on Monday, 17 December 2007 7:16 PM
Love it...hope you win.
