I'm surprised by this, weak choice far too much going on.
Sometimes the best designs work because of what you leave out.
Just to bright and most of the images weren't in the download set to work from.
Wow...

I agree with the first comment. I deliberately did not enter round 2 to see what sort of criteria the judges were using to pick winners.
Apparently they want random image overlays and filters just put on top of each other using images that weren't provided in the original stock photography.
Looking at the runner ups, my theory of 5 min photoshop jobs seems to hold true.
All the ones I considered strongest only made honorable mention.
Word to "professional" designers. Don't waste man hours on this contest.

got to agree with the above. I might be wrong, but the winer didn't use "original photography" I'm really skeptical that ether he bought the snoop pictures or he/she was at his concert ant took it. Don't get me wrong, the design is great, but the judges should look into checking for original work. I think anyone with some talent can make a great wall paper with any image found on the internet. Following rules is where the true artist comes on top. Please forgive me if I'm wrong!!!!! is just my opinion.

Although MUSICALLY, Snoop isn't Funk, I do dig the play on Zapp with the Keytar and vocoder in Zapp style. Funk requires musicians and isn't necassarily pimpy...sooo with that mini-lesson...and taking THAT into consideration when taking these elements you have and designing, is that this, seems a bit stereotyping with the pimp imagery and chicks at the bottom of the steps.
BUT the lighting effects, the use of the Keytars, the colors and focal point, plus those graphic lines all around really give this a full on energy which taken as it is works great!
Design is communication so be careful what and how.

Holy f*ck this will look so good in snoop´s site, fits in perfectly. And looking at this masterpiece, I realise I have a long-long way of becoming a great designer and will propably never reach the level shown in this piece of brilliance. I´ll quit Photoshop.
I have no idea who the first commenters are

TO THE FIRST COUPLE COMMENTERS: You're all retarded. This guy did a great job, and there is DEFINITELY NOT TOO MUCH GOING ON. Stop being jealous just cause you didn't win morons

for mmm's comment ..."Following rules is where the true artist comes on top" ,
i leave you one of picasso's best known quotes,
"Bad artists copy. Good artists steal."
so if you are in a position to argue about picasso let us know.

@mr niceguy I take it you're a friend of the winnder or w/e I dont really care but I am slightly confused at the second choice as it was more than likely a 2 min photoshop job so Im very curious of the judging criteria itself.. I'll go as far enough to say this is a worthy top 5 placement piece and looks very glamerous but I dont like the text tbh looks horrible and I would hazard this took 30 mins but congratulations :)
Cool
