Title: Flying Free

Taken with the Canon 5D and the 17-40 canon lens. The Liberating feel of the birds flying against the backdrop of a Sixteenth century Mosque with the evening sky made me choose this photo for the contest.

Very nice idea and the color explosion of the sunset is beautiful ... unfortunately the birds are underexposed ... with another shot metered for the birds it could've made an astonishing HRD composition.

Thanks Quietdream, appreciate it. Actually wanted the birds underexposed to just concentrate on the speed with which these birds were flying and though I have shots of them metered for the birds, I preferred this version for the mood it created. Thanks again. Cheers, Vikas.

i think, out of every picture in this round, this is hands down the best picture. i feel like it doesn't quite fit the theme, but i would be ecstatic if i could capture something this beautiful
