War is (almost) Over
The skewed take on the title of the John Lennon song was the the inspiration of my piece. The War is (almost) over, but not for the better. A lot of work went into this. The toppled towers, the fire and smoke, the main wrecked building, and snow flurry, on the "masked man" were done with brushes and/or a lot of patience. I tried to match the light direction to make it look like everything was light by just the sun. Any additional pictures (sky, textures, beach and rocks) used for this were from my own personal stock with the only pictures taken specifically for this was me in a hoodie to complete the "masked man" and the shoes for the guy on the rock. Best when viewed large. There are a lot of little details. Hope you like it :)

First of all I love the take on the title, and I have to say that I am really impressed with the detail in the coloring, all the different hues used throughout the sky, and just one break in the clouds for the light source.

You must have put a lot of time into it. I think that is great that you were able to use your own body to finish off the man in the gas mask. I also really like the font that you used for the title. What is it?

I'm am in complete amazement. It blew me away to see the original pictures that were taken vs the final product! Artistry with a computer program. Now that's a talent I never could have imagined. I can't wait to see what you do next. Do you have a website with all your work?

Thanks for the kind words Linda. I only have a flickr account at the moment for more of my work.

I caught myself staring at this photo for awhile. There is so much attention to detail that you want to sit and take it all in. My eyes were constantly drawn to the Red ornament. As I worked my way outwad to the figure on the rock and the hooded man, I felt scared and grief. The factory burning against the background of the eery green sky was equally unnerving. Great choice in using the Red for the ornament and making it a bomb. It was just enough to throw you off. It's awesome.

Yours is by far the best one.. I am not sure I enjoy the specific pictures (besides the christmas ball!), but when viewing through the others, yours is very creative and incorporates all of the 4 pictures you had to incorporate! Well done, I'm very impressed and wish I could do soemthing like that!!!! :))))

Thanks QBuzz13 and Gabella. I wanted the red ornament to stand out so I'm glad it did for you. It's the only thing I didn't take the color saturation down on or turn slightly green. In a subtle way I tried to make the colors "christmasy", even if slightly skewed.

I'm also glad people have been noticing some of the details. I really wanted to make sure things felt like they belonged there and that nothing stood out as being fake.

I think it looks very realistic compared to many of the others and I liked how you made the images you used work together and look believable as far as scale and lighting. Definitely eerie.
