Madonna and child updated
An image of hope for a New Renaissance after a time of apocalypse. Post Proella Praemia" means "After the battles come the rewards". And "Nil Carborundum Illegitimi", roughly translates as "Don't let the bastards grind you down". I have used the gasmask, the crying girl, the factory, and stone and rubble elements from the dilapidated house images, and any other imagery is my own. A closer look will reveal a couple of details... so please enjoy. Comments are welcome. Thanks for looking, and best seasonal wishes to everyone. Peace, reverence and respect.

There are some good entries this round, but this one has to take the cake.

...hmm prominent source image indeed.
By dogtrombone on Monday, 17 November 2008 7:58 AM
Thanks Doc.

@lamaksstalk... on closer inspection, you might determine that the entire "structure" is made up from the factory image, as well as the entire background, and the entire foreground is made up from sections of the dilapidated house image, as is Madonna's chair, and the stone dollar signs and stone blo... Oh, never mind.

viewed in the small size (414px × 497px) it looks really great, like a lovely illustration from old enclopedy books.... damn ilove the feeling of the birds like in old books.... the colors are awesome, they really help in a great way to feel it as an illustration.

i loved it in the small size, but in the larger size it loses depth with the lack of some shadows and some rude plays on figures blendings.

what i mean is... this would be a great piece in a printed greeting card size.

great concept btw, keep up.
Another Look!
