RE: Photoshop Contest: Week 2
Totally agree with the posts above, the voting is just no accurate at the moment, too many people are opening accounts and voting people down, that is the only explanation for such low scores. On a contest like this you would get 8+ and the winner close to 10, and not 4 ......
I insist on the fact that judges should make the final decision and thats it.
However if this is just not in crestock plans there are some suggestions above that would help like keeping the voting secret until the winner is announced and releasing all entries at the same time for voting so we all get the same exposure etc etc ....... ;)

I too have notice that the voting isn't very accurate. But I am enjoying this competition anyway. I have clearly been able to see where I can improve some of my images.
Thank you to the Crestock staff for this opportunity :-).

RE: Photoshop Contest: Week 2
We have been slightly disappointed, to be frank, with the relatively widespread attempts to manipulate the votes. Given the prizes up for grabs, I guess it isn't that surprising...
The main problem here is not the final result – I hope most of you will agree with us on this point, judging from the winning entries in the first two rounds. We are aware, of course, that it is by no means impossible to bypass the preliminary voting checks, and I can only say that if people knew the full extent of the system we have in place to log and monitor voting, they would realise just how futile the attempts to manipulate the scores are.
The problem is rather, as correctly observed by several of you, that the scores displayed throughout the contest are distorted by manipulative voting, resulting in excessively low and very even scores up until the point when the votes are verified. And the vote 'clean-up' is simply more effective and reliable if done at the end of the voting, which is why we have not, so far, verified votes on a daily basis.
The fact remains that although the public vote counts 50%, even significant manipulation of this vote is simply not enough to win the contest once combined with the judges' votes, which show a much higher level of concistency.
To emphasize that; in the coming two rounds, as stakes are getting higher, the judges' votes will count 60%, public votes 40%. And we sincerely hope that a few attempts at reaching the top by unfair means won't spoil the contest for those of you taking time to create excellent and original work that deserves to be highly rated.
Good luck in coming rounds! :)

RE: Photoshop Contest: Week 2
thx for the effort of a good and objective voting system! I would also like to suggest that the different submissions could be shown in a randomized order - cause there are so many I think the ones on the first page have a slightly better chance than the ones on page e.g. 5.
or would it be possible to randomize the position during the voting period?
