Attention: New Forum in Progress

Unfortunately, our current forum software is causing us some problems, so we have decided to turn off the posting capabilities - for now. We decided to develop our very own forum to get it just right - and it will be up and running again towards the end of May.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Until the new forum is available, you can still browse and read the old forums, but unfortunately not post new messages.

Thank you so much for your patience!

EDITING REJECTED PHOTOS
Posted in F.A.Q. on 2. December 2006 by uko

I would like if is there any way to delete the rejected photos or to see why they were rejected and to repair them and submit again?
thank you.

RE: EDITING REJECTED PHOTOS
Hi,
You should receive an email for every image that you get accepted or rejected, and if an image is rejected, this email should also have an explanation as to why it was not accepted.
At the moment we don't store the rejection reasons with the rejected images in your portfolio, but this is something we are working on implementing.
Rather than just deleting rejected images we keep a record of them, so that it is easy both for contributors and us to keep track of what they have submitted before. Just remember that the rejected images are only visible to the individual contributors, so other people can't see what images you have had rejected.

I got the following message from crestock after submitting my photo!

* Your choice of composition did not accord with our standards.

We invite you to address these concerns.

RE: EDITING REJECTED PHOTOS
I recently had an image rejected for "visible photoshop editing". Well, so what if it is?....it's still a strong image. I don't believe that buyers will see much of the editing. Is it too much to ask to have the critique worded for corrections? Can I even upload again?...with correctioted images?

RE: EDITING REJECTED PHOTOS
Hi Keith,

The image in question IS a very strong image, but I do believe that the sharp edges of the de-saturated selection would ruin the overall effect somewhat if it was reproduced large, say fullpage in a print magazine or newsletter.

This wouldn't be apparent from the small preview, so someone downloading the image for this purpose could find themselves facing at least an hour of tricky retouching, trying to soften the hard selection somewhat.

Applying a bit of feathering or a brush mask would only take a few seconds extra and would give a much more organic, natural feel to the image - in my opinion. An adjusted and re-submitted version would no doubt be accepted as the image is spot-on apart from this.

RE: EDITING REJECTED PHOTOS
I just had 10 images rejected for lack of a model release. The problem is I have a model release on record and did attach it to these images. Is there a way to simply attach the model release, again, to these images. Am I really expected to reload these files again?

On a side note, it would be helpful in the tabs field under rejection that there was a number like the other tabs (pending, etc...) so images could be found easier.

RE: EDITING REJECTED PHOTOS
Hi,
Custom means, that the inspector left another note with the rejections. There are some standard rejections, like out of focus, composition, etc. And then we have the possiblity to write a custom one.

If you are interested in a more detailed critic, don“t hesitate to post the image number and we will have a look at it. We are always glad when we can help ;-).

Happy Holidays!!!
