Attention: New Forum in Progress

Unfortunately, our current forum software is causing us some problems, so we have decided to turn off the posting capabilities - for now. We decided to develop our very own forum to get it just right - and it will be up and running again towards the end of May.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Until the new forum is available, you can still browse and read the old forums, but unfortunately not post new messages.

Thank you so much for your patience!

The F.A.Q. says its 2400x1600 pix. My digital camera is 2272x1704, which is slighlty more in total pixels, but does not comply the 2400 minimum lenght.

Is it ok to upload 2272x1704?

Regards,
Adelaide

RE: Minimum image size
Hi Madelaide,

There is a barrier in the upload system that automatically blocks images that are too small from being uploaded, but this function calculates the total number of pixels, and as you yourself say, 2272x1704 is just over that limit so there's nothing stopping you :)

If someone cares...compact digital cameras have 4:3 length:height ration (that's monitor screen resolution..800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864) and digital SLR cameras (usually used by profi photographers or crazy amateurs:) have the chip ration of 3:2 (that's why this site says 2400x1600 or 3000x2000).

Divide any of those pairs of numbers and you'll get 1.33 (4:3=1.33) for the first camera type (or 0.75 if dividing second with the first number..hence 3:4=0.75) and 1.5 for the second camera type (3:2=1.5) or 0.66 (2:3=0.66).
