Hi

With a lot of pleasure i find that in the categories tree added the illustration section. That was a really instant response from the administrators and development team.
Congratulation guys:) You did very good work and really fast.

Just an other one suggestion (i hope i do not bore you)
In the subcategories of illustration propably you can add these too:
"hand drawn and artistic" "vectors" (vector category is a very important one for those who search for a scalable image or just want to peak an element form the entire image.A lot of designers find this category really helpful so it is important) "raster miscellaneous" or just "miscellaneous"

I point out that you try to categorize according the concept of the image but always there will be something that will not fit on the existing categories. So try to make some general categories in order to cover any extra need.

Thanks for listening:)

BTW i found my "Blow up your speakers" illustration in the best image of the day. That was an extra pleasure for me if you consider i am a new member here.I really appreciated this.
Tell jadge ross i love him, even though some times he is very cruel
(btw nice caracter  and very clever idea)

Hi again tasosk,

Well, we can't promise that we will always be able to respond this quickly, but we do try to listen to our contributors and you were absolutely right that an 'illustrations' category was becoming increasingly necessary. Much of the illustration work on the site has been transferred to the appropriate illustration categories, the remaining files will be processed in the next couple of days. Should anyone find that they have been left out at the end of this process, just send an email to help@crestock.com and we will be happy to move the your files.

We also agree with your "hand drawn and artistic" category and will add this. Regarding a separate "vector" category we are somewhat uncertain about the usefulness of such a catagory although we do agree on the advantages of vectors over raster images in certain contexts. We prefer (with a few exceptions) to categorise images according to subject matter.

We actually consider keywords more important than the categories in the functionality and searchability of the site because they offer more flexibility and detail than what is practical with categories. Not least do they enable searches based on subject, style and technique all at the same time, for example girl, funky, vector. We do, however, STRONGLY recommend that keywords such as 'illustration', 'cartoon' 'vector','lineart' etc are added to the appropriate illustrations to enable searches for example specifically for vector artwork.

Regarding scalability and size restrictions, all image previews are accompanied by a size readout (in pixels) in the case of raster images and simply specified as vector art in the case of vector illustrations, so designers will always be able to assess how large the image in question can be reproduced or how much it can be cropped before making the final decision on purchasing a file or not.

And last but not least: Judge Ross will no doubt be cheered up no end by getting messages of love when he comes in on Monday morning - you don't get many of those in his line of work... :)
