Attention: New Forum in Progress

Unfortunately, our current forum software is causing us some problems, so we have decided to turn off the posting capabilities - for now. We decided to develop our very own forum to get it just right - and it will be up and running again towards the end of May.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Until the new forum is available, you can still browse and read the old forums, but unfortunately not post new messages.

Thank you so much for your patience!

AlienBees + Minolta / Sony
Posted in Digital Photography on 25. March 2007 by ablyth

I've got a KonicaMinolta Alpha Sweet (aka 5d), and so the Sony A100 would probably be facing the same situation, and usually what works on one, will too on the other.

I haven't bought it yet (one 'Beginner Bee' set), just making sure of details, but I'm wondering if there is a way to synchronise the studio flash whilst using the 5d. Otherwise, I'm considering getting both the wireless trigger and receiver, and the hotshoe adapter for the trigger.

However and also, with the pre-flash activity, does that interupt the wireless trigger?

(fyi, the Minolta system uses 'pre-flashes' to judge settings and to send flash information to other Minolta slave flashes, there's no pc sync, and the hotshoe is unique, and I've checked and it appears there's no Manual mode)
