Attention: New Forum in Progress

Unfortunately, our current forum software is causing us some problems, so we have decided to turn off the posting capabilities - for now. We decided to develop our very own forum to get it just right - and it will be up and running again towards the end of May.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Until the new forum is available, you can still browse and read the old forums, but unfortunately not post new messages.

Thank you so much for your patience!

Posted in Newbies on 28. March 2007 by dodoman

Hy to all!

Well i have a rejection..its not a big deal but im asking you to help me understand why?

The image was rejected for the following reason(s):
Bad isolation / clean background

This image is the way it is..it has clean background...and it is not meanted to be isolated..hmmm?

I ll be happy to hear some other opinions...

RE: Rejection?
I'd guess that they don't like the greyish background - it shold probably be white.

RE: Rejection?
Hi

I suppose bad isolation means that the background and motive are of similar colors, and thus the motive does not stand out in a big way. But just a guess...

RE: Rejection?

You're right in questioning the rejection you received. There is nothing wrong with the background the picture has, even though its not isolated white. Theres no rule that says it should be. And, the creative content of the picture is such that the background works fine.

I would suggest that when you receive a rejection reason like that, theres 2 possibilities. The first being that the inspector meant to, but failed to, reject it for another reason, i.e. technical quality, out of focus. Its hard to say without seeing the picture at 100%. The other possible explanation is just that the inspector made a mistake, which happens. If you think thats the case, check the picture for yourself, looking for focus, iso noise, jpg artifacts, etc. If you think its alright, contact crestock with the picture. We welcome feedback, and the inspection team I work together with are constantly trying to improve our accuracy.

We have in the past been tougher on incomplete background isolation for pictures that really should be on a 100% white background. However, due to advances in the latest versions of Photoshop making isolation the matter of a mouse-click, its becoming a non-issue.
