Hi all,

If you browse through my albums, I have a few shots using Scrabble tiles. Someone told me that the tiles are trademarked/copyrighted by Mattel, who like Lego and some other toy companies are very protective about their identity.

Does that mean that someone can get back to me for damages if anything goes wrong?

Oops......!!

Not sure, but that board game is sold under many different names in different parts of the world and not solely by Mattel. It was hardly a new idea to begin with anyway, but it's possible they do hold copyright all the same.

Yes, photos of Scrabble tiles are definitely a no-no... I'm surprised very surprised these have gotten through reviews at Crestock... they should know better. Yes, they could give you trouble. I don't know exactly who holds the copyright and where, but typically lots of games like this can be problematic with copyrights.
