Flash sync port on Canon Xti?
Posted in Digital Photography on 24. April 2007 by BryantSel

Hey, I just replaced my old Pentax with a Canon Xti and today I decided it's time to mess around with my old flash equipment. Through I was never able to find a flash sync port like my Pentax had on it. Any suggestions...is my equipment too old or did Canon forget a sync port?

Thanks

RE: Flash sync port on Canon Xti?
Canon don't usually put a PC sync socket on their 'basic' SLR models – they usually left this out on their entry-level EOS film SLRs too. You can still connect strobes and flashguns with a PC sync lead by using a hotshoe adapter .

The only potential problem is more risk of poor connections and the flash not firing, and possibly the sync lead being in the way, but generally it works ok.
