Attention: New Forum in Progress

Unfortunately, our current forum software is causing us some problems, so we have decided to turn off the posting capabilities - for now. We decided to develop our very own forum to get it just right - and it will be up and running again towards the end of May.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Until the new forum is available, you can still browse and read the old forums, but unfortunately not post new messages.

Thank you so much for your patience!

Newbie Questions:
Posted in Newbies on 15. August 2007 by LeoBlanchette

Hi,

I'm new here. I'm very limited on time as I'm always working on projects.

I could not find that familiar "Submit" or "upload" options that so many sites have. Is there one?

Do I have to get accepted like on other sites?

And, a very, very sensitive question, answer at your own risk:

I found this site in Advanced Photoshop magazine. I assume that since its advertized there, its not going to be as dissapointing in download rates as *ahem* other sites. Can I have a glimpse of what I can expect without venturing into dangerous territory on the "competition" subject? This would be a bonus.

Am I locked into a six month or similar timeline for the images I upload? I fell into that trap before. Much regret it.

Thanks guys,

Leo

RE: Newbie Questions:
LeoBlanchette,

First of all, welcome to Crestock.

To start uploading you need to first sign-up. The button for that is on the right hand menu.

From there you can start uploading right away, the option to do so is found in your member menu once you're logged in.

There is no requirements for you to either be approved as an uploader or for you to remain with us over any period of time.

As to that risky question, well you can just about best answer that yourself. The more you invest into Crestock, the more you get out of it. Sound a little corny? Apologies, but its true. If you upload as many pictures as your willing to and its good quality and the metadata is accurate, then we'll rate it high and push it in front of the customers where possible. We spend a lot of resources into marketing to attract customers, and thats also something contributors can do on a lower level too. Link to your Crestock portfolio from your own personal sites...etc etc.

Hope that is of some help and we look forward to seeing your submissions.
