Tutorial on isolating hair with Alpha channels

I just found this tutorial at Computer Arts that explains how to get hair and other none-sharpedged objects isolated from the background using Alpha masks rather than the magic wand or lasso tool (which, if you've tried it, you'll know doesn't really work).
