Attention: New Forum in Progress

Unfortunately, our current forum software is causing us some problems, so we have decided to turn off the posting capabilities - for now. We decided to develop our very own forum to get it just right - and it will be up and running again towards the end of August.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Until the new forum is available, you can still browse and read the old forums, but unfortunately not post new messages.

Thank you so much for your patience!

Privacy models

Hi,

I have a question. When I search on a name of one of my models in Google, pictures of this model will come up in Crestock. My model isn't very happy with that. Why is it, and why only at Crestock? i think you have to be carefully with that kind of information.

But, maybe you can explane it to me,

Regards, Ivonne

RE: Privacy models
Hi,

We implemented the model name at the request of a few top photographers who were using professional models. It provided an easily-accessible portfolio of images for those models, as well as providing exposure for that model.

Of course, its natural that not everyone wants that exposure, especially because not everyone happens to be a professional model. That is absolutely fine, and its alright to label your models as you like. For example. Model 1, Model 2, etc.

I tried doing google searches after model's on Crestock. The results were mixed, with mostly no results. On a couple of tries there were some Crestock models on the google search results, but they were very far back and only when the search word 'Crestock' was added.

What action that will be taken depends on how serious this is for you. It seems you would need to search pretty hard on google to find a model via Crestock. But, nevertheless, if it is a serious concern for you, please let me know and I will contact the programming team about this.

It is, of course, possible to edit the model's name from within the 'My Account' area, when you go to attach model releases to images, there is a link called 'Edit' at the side of each model profile. If you call your model, 'Model 1', for example, it will make the model anonymous both on Crestock and Google.

RE: Privacy models
Thanks for the reaction. I have changed the name in Model1. In my Google-search the Crestock was the very first hit, so it depends ;). It's not a professional model, that's why.

It's solved to me!
