Attention: New Forum in Progress

Unfortunately, our current forum software is causing us some problems, so we have decided to turn off the posting capabilities - for now. We decided to develop our very own forum to get it just right - and it will be up and running again towards the end of May.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Until the new forum is available, you can still browse and read the old forums, but unfortunately not post new messages.

Thank you so much for your patience!

My model release vs Crestock model release
Posted in Newbies on 9. January 2008 by caymiss

I photograph with my own business name and also with a partner under another business name.

Will Crestock accept the model release I use with my business name?

Should I upload a form for approval??

My partner and I share ownership of the images we did under the business name. If we want to sell them, should we get a joint account for that purpose?

Thank you
Becky

RE: my model release vs Crestock model release
I think your question answers itself.
Knowing that only the rightful owner can sell an image.
Knowing the rightful owner is signing the model release.
Then the one signing the model release is the one who should upload the image on their own account.
However being with two photographers in one company you simply take one account and share the income.

Me and Danielle are two people, both photographing. Ok we also sleep together but that is beside the point :D
We are not married nor are joined officially in DNF-Style. All shoots are being signed by me, Frenk. But all the income is being spend together..
I guess you might also share the times one puts his/her name under a model release as being the rightful owner, thus avoiding issues might you two split up for some reason.
You have to remember that in that case your image stil have been uploaded under ones name but the rights are always with the one signing the MR.

Hope this helps a bit.

RE: my model release vs Crestock model release
Thank you, it makes sense, I just wanted to make sure about any possible issues that might arise since we have a "gentlewomen's agreement" about what we do together. Sometimes one shoots and the other assists and other times we both get shutter happy. We share the benefits of what we do together, but also do our own independent works.

I still wonder, however, if we should open a "joint" account to offer those images just to make it easier to manage the mine, yours and ours.

Thank you,
Becky
