Hello,
could I ask why this picture (i.e., Image ID: 575050) has been rejected for the reason 'Not stock material'?
Thank you very much.
Best wishes,
Michael
RE: Not stock material
Hi,
Please direct queries like these to the helpdesk, unless you are willing to post a down-sized copy of your image with the post. This is so Crestock's photographers can partake in the discussion. Its possible to save the preview image from your rejected images folder.
575050 was rejected for having very little or no commercial value. On a technical level, the lighting was poor with sharp shadows present, and little or no composition.
All the best with your future submissions.

RE: Not stock material
Hello Josh,
thank you very much for your reply.
Ok, next time, I will attach to the post a down-sized copy or the image or include a link to it.
Concerning the picture, you are right that the light is not the best (it is a bit hard), but concerning the composition I am a bit unsure. I found the picture quite natural without too much messing background. But if its commercial value is poor, then ok.
I really begin to believe that it is difficult to take a stock picture with a compact camera, except may be if you are a pro or if the shooting conditions are extremely good.
Thank you.
Best wishes,
Michael

RE: Not stock material
I sell stock on quite a few sites, and I can give you a pointer on this.
"not stock material" means the reviewer doesn't think the customers their site is aimed at will have any interest in the picture.
It's not that they don't like the picture, they just don't think it will sell here.
Other sites may like it just fine.
I have had images rejected by some sites, accepted by others. It's just a matter of what they are looking for.

RE: Not stock material
Hello Darla,
thank you very much for your explanation.
I understand. Each agency may have different targets and a picture accepted by one of them does not mean it will be accepted by another.
Best wishes,
Michael
