Attention: New Forum in Progress

Unfortunately, our current forum software is causing us some problems, so we have decided to turn off the posting capabilities - for now. We decided to develop our very own forum to get it just right - and it will be up and running again towards the end of August.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Until the new forum is available, you can still browse and read the old forums, but unfortunately not post new messages.

Thank you so much for your patience!

Rejection - composition
Posted in Image Evaluations on 15. January 2008 by xalanx

Hello,

I had a batch uploaded and many of the photos were rejected. Let's say for instance, photo with id 578141.

This photo is accepted everywhere else (big fishes included) and also sold. Can you please take a look and clarify this for me? I am a bit puzzled. I know that there are other standards here (as stated in a message box prior submitting the photos to review) but still, it's the only place where this photo is rejected and this raises questions. I take this as a proof that i'm not good enough for crestock and therefore I won't waste my and your time.

There are also other photos in this batch that are in the same situation, but i won't make a list here, let's talk just about this one.

Thank you,
Catalin.

Hello? Anyone? Maybe the reviewer that processed that batch?

Hi Catlin,

I didn't find anything fundamentally wrong with the composition of this image. I've now approved this image for you.

Regards,

Josh

Thanks Josh. I should probably resubmit the ones that I know are good, but I don't have time for this. I'll stay on Crestock to see what's happening at my next batch and then make a decision.

RE: Rejection - composition
Occasionally a site will reject a photo for composition because they don't think it fits in with the look of the site's other stock.

Certainly, question a good photo being rejected, but keep in mind that, sometimes, it's purely a matter of taste which sites will want it, and which ones won't.

Hello Darla,

If you read carefully, I already said that I know what fits on one site doesn't fit another. However, this was an upload of tens of files and only a few got approved. Most (MOST!) of the others are approved everywhere else, only here not. So, if 6 other sites (biggest ones included) approve some photos and Crestock rejects them what does this tell you? That Crestock has very high standards, of course!

RE: Rejection - composition
I have done image inspections on other stock sites and I applaud crestock for having high standards as most stock agencies are going for numbers and not quality.
