Attention: New Forum in Progress

Unfortunately, our current forum software is causing us some problems, so we have decided to turn off the posting capabilities - for now. We decided to develop our very own forum to get it just right - and it will be up and running again towards the end of May.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Until the new forum is available, you can still browse and read the old forums, but unfortunately not post new messages.

Thank you so much for your patience!

I just signed up for an account. I was wondering how long it takes until I can use the ftp upload. I just tried to connect through ftp and kept getting an error message. I can only assume it takes a bit of time before I am registered in the system? Also What is the proper amount of photos to upload at time? I have a pretty big portfolio but do not want to clog up the system. Thanks for any help.

RE: ftp account
Hi Elvinstar,

Welcome to Crestock!

I believed the FTP should work right away. Would you try again? If it doesn't work this time, try posting the exact error details and I will contact the IT team about it.

RE: ftp account
Also, I have an idea that the inspection team may like you better after inspecting 50-100 images at a time, than they would after 1000 images..

Its up to you, though. Its a quick uploading process, so go crazy.

RE: ftp account
It says,

"Connecting with crestock...
Connected with crestock..com Waiting for welcome message....
Error: Dissconnected from server,
Error: Unable to connect! "

Then it tries to recconect and the same four sentences happen over and over.

As for uploading 50 to 100 images at a time that sounds good!

Thanks for the quick reply and help!

RE: ftp account
just wondering if you have made any progress on the ftp issue for me... it is taking forever to upload them online! ;)

RE: ftp account
Should I contact the help desk about this issue? I need to have it taken care of before I upload more images.

RE: ftp account
I still cannot access through ftp and am starting to get frustrated by the lack of response. Again should I email someone else about this. If so, who?

RE: ftp account
Our apologies for the apparent lack of response. This really is something that needs to be addressed to the helpdesk, though. They should be able to guide you through the process with the right settings, etc.

RE: ftp account
It sounds like this could be a problem with the log-in information your FTP application submits to our server. Unfortunately the "unable to connect" message isn't very helpful when it comes to determining what the problem is. What FTP application are you using?

The FTP password is case sensitive, which often causes login problems. You are 100% sure that there are no capital letters in your password that you've forgotten about? The password is not case sensitive when you log on to the crestock website, so this is quite easy to forget about.

RE: ftp account
I have a different problem with ftp upload: I upload without problem a week ago 52 images, without folder in the ftp dirctory, The My upload page said there are 52 images ready to process, but after many tries the files still waiting in the first step of uploading; I have open the main directory in the ftp program, and I can see all the files are there, and one of it was a .tif file; I try to delete it and then to refresh the mY upload page, and now said there are 51 files waiting for process. But there is no way to transfer the files in the Describe and submit step.
I wait that my previous upload was approved and then retry but no success. I think there is some tecnical problem , I hope i don't need to re-upload all the images.
Thank you

RE: ftp account
Hi,

We can see your images in the queue, we'll process these first to see if that helps.

RE: ftp account
Thank you for the quick revision, but my files still lay in the ftp queue.... no way to submit; if you can't do nothing to solve the problem, I need to delete them and re-upload all, hoping this go on.

RE: ftp account
It sounds like there is a technical problem with one or several of the uploaded files if the processing takes a long time and fails to complete. You have double checked that there are not any more tiff or non-jpeg files among the images you've uploaded?

If they are all jpegs it will be more difficult to find out which file is causing the problem if the processing system does not report any errors. If this is the case you might have to upload the images again, in smaller batches.
