Attention: New Forum in Progress

Unfortunately, our current forum software is causing us some problems, so we have decided to turn off the posting capabilities - for now. We decided to develop our very own forum to get it just right - and it will be up and running again towards the end of May.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Until the new forum is available, you can still browse and read the old forums, but unfortunately not post new messages.

Thank you so much for your patience!

Vector illustration update
Posted in F.A.Q. on 20. October 2006 by Crestock

Vector illustrations can now be downloaded either in the original vector format or as different sized jpegs.

If you have previously contributed vector illustrations to Crestock, you have been required to attached a jpeg preview image of your illustration.

Now you can make your illustration available in different jpeg sizes as well as in vector format by uploading a larger jpeg:
If your jpeg is 1600x2400px or larger, your illustration can also be downloaded as a SMALL jpeg. If it is 2000x3000 or larger, it will be available in SMALL and MEDIUM sizes. Make it 3000x4000px or larger, and it will be available as SMALL, MEDIUM and XL sizes.

RE: Vector illustration update
That's an interesting new feature, as some people may be unable to use vector files.

Can we replace the previously submited low-res JPEGs by larger ones? In fact I believe I have included high-res JPEGs in my ZIP files, but then I understand that the one submitted separately is the one that will be used for JPEG download.

RE: Vector illustration update
You shouldn't have to resubmit your vector illustrations since we generated larger jpegs from all the previously submitted vectors ourselves when we introduced this feature.

There are some variations, but the majority of vector illustrations submitted earlier are available both as small and medium jpegs.

RE: Vector illustration update
Is there a problem with the illustration-with-jpg uploading? All of the files I've tried fail with the message "Max image size 18MB" or something similar, when the images aren't even close to that size. Any ideas?
