| | I think you'd have to be using a light meter on the subject to get the right light readings, and then you'd set your camera accordingly. But if you're photographing things that are in a mix of light and shade, then you'd have to take a few pictures in different brackets, blend them together in post production, and whola! Me? I use filters to even out the contrast... usually.
However, your camera's internal light meter is usually sufficient. If not, then there might be some other issue. Could you tell me more?
