| | Try to find M42 lenses from East German Carl Zeiss, they are all good.Sonnar 135/3,5 Flektogon 35/2,8 Pancolar 50/1,8 Flectogon 20mm and 25mm...Other, not Zeiss East German lenses are not so good.Also good choice is if You find some old Pentax Takumar, they are also good lenses.Do not take Vivitar,Tamron,Tokina and similar lenses, they are not in same league except some macros. |

| | If You want to use M42 with simple ring adapter on Nikon, problem will be with infinity.You can use it for macro and portraits but not for landscapes, except if You buy special adapter with correction lens.This problem is not exsisting at Canon and some other cameras, but with Nikon You can use even 40years old lenses (I am using old manual focus 20,35 and 85mm).
