I have used Crestock for a little while, building collections and purchasing images. I must say that the quality and variety of images is impressive. I also find the user interface easy to use. However, my experience also leave something to be desired, and I felt it appropriate to share my thoughts here in the forum.
  • Option to delete more than one image at the time in a collection.
  • Option to move/copy images between collection (better collection management tools)
  • Option to have images that you have downloaded tagged in your collection.
  • Option to have images that you have already downloaded/purchased available for download at no additional charge.
  • Indication/tag that an image in one collection also appears in another (intentionally or not).
  • An indication/tag when you search images to show that they are already in one (or more) of your collections.
  • An indication/tag when you search images to show that you have already downloaded/purchased images.

Hi Josh,

My suggestion is..... could you please speed up the review process? My images 25 of them( Christmas among others) have been stuck here about two weeks or more and I cannot see anybody interested in reviewing them. Previously, I had to ask on the forum for my images to be reviewed and now this is happening again. I have only 33 images in my portfolio and my sales are slowly going up, but how I can build my port up if nobody is interested in reviewing my works? Just would also like to add that most of the same images are getting sold very very well on other websites ( and the review process is extremely fast ) so it's a pity that you as well as me cannot make money on them here cause they are stuck in pending section it seems for ever. It's sooooooooo discouraging.

Warm regards,

Juliet

for me as a buyer:

1. How many photos are in whole stock information - people wants to know how big is image database without exploring it via search. I don't know what i will need in subscription period so I want to know that I have huge image collection when I need it.

2. New images in Crestock - it's good for buyers and sellers to get point of view on what is accepted and to get sells as new user. New users will wait longer time to sell enything. Most of us "buyers" don't have time to explore whole listings so many times we looking photos by "most downloaded"

3. Categories - it is very useful option to find out something without using specified keywords. Sometimes people using keywords without connection to photos. Sometimes I can hit my goal by exploring categories not using search.

3a. After choosing category - most popular images for it can be showed on screen.

4. New artists listing - maybe it's good option for promotion new photographers here. I want to explore them like "browse contributors" maybe bigger listing will be more useful.

Thats all for start.

Yes, we've been working with quite a few hi-volume contributors that have been checking out a lot of our resources. We're getting through all of those now, and the queue is getting lower, daily.

Thanks for your patience,

Josh

Thanks for the feedback, Anna.

1. Based on feedback from other clients, we market the quality of the collection - not so much the quantity of images that some of the agencies do. In terms of numbers, we can't compete, as other sites have been approving almost anything for years now. We have a little under 1 million images, last time we checked. We're the only site that has adopted high standards from day one.

2. http://www.crestock.com/recent-image-uploads.aspx you can browse the highest rated recent submission here. This link is visible under the My Account tab. http://www.crestock.com/search-images.aspx?browse=images Browse most popular images here. And, of course, you can always sort a search result by 'Newest First'.

3. Interesting, other feedback indicated that not too many buyers browsed using categories.

4. Nice idea, we've been thinking about something like this for awhile. Would certainly be nice to give some exposure to some of the fantastic new artists we have.

Thanks again for the feedback.

It seems to stay the same from few days. It doesn't look good from my "buyer" perspective.

On one side many photographers waiting long time for accepting their submissions and from other static - without any updates "newest images" section.

Maybe it's time to think about hire more inspectors to make crestock more alive.

New idea to think about:

Browsable section with pending images where buyers can view and click and add "wanted" to selected image. It makes some decisions easier for inspectors.

Who knows better what can be used in designs ? Buyers - designers.

I'm curious who selecting photos to be accepted. Are they designers wowking in industry and making designs every day ?

The most recent images are only a selection of the highest rated submissions over a day or several days. There should be fresh content on their daily as we're inspecting 1000s of images every day.

We have a good base of inspectors, we're starting to get on top of the backlog of images now.

About browsing pending images, it is an interesting idea. First of all though, logistically, browsing between 5,000-50,000 pending images can be a task. Legally, we're not able to implement this due to images needing to be screened for trademarks, model & property releases..

Also, technical image quality needs to be checked by our trained inspectors before we can make images available. Its true that the buyers/designers are the most effective judges of image's sellability or usability, so we do have a few of them on our team of inspectors.

I prefer to view all new instead of few. When I see only 50 the best, what can I think about others. It seems like there is no too many good submissions or there is just 50 new and virtual 1000s.

In my opinion microstock it's some kind of gallery where you should show what you have. Now it's like going to store and seeing only 50 items when you read about 1000s. First feeling is disappointment than maybe somone try to find something but many people just go away.

Browsable "newest section" is main powerful feature from biggest websites on microstock market. I can't understand why here I can't find it.

I have a suggestion:

Please put the "portfolio" in some kind of order. If the order of images is based on date, views, sales....whatever, I cannot firgure this out. Is there some way of putting my accepted photos into an easier way of finding them?...alphabetical?...most recent uploaded?

Thank you

Hey keithpix,

Look to the left of your portfolio and you will see a search option for sorting your results.  Hope this helps!

Thanks, Danabeth...

I have another suggestion: When a photo is rejected, would it be possible to correct it and reload it for a second review without losing the information?

I have a suggestion for the forum - could you please make the textbox bigger? The tiny textbox it's a pain when adding images to a post.

"We have listened", as the phrase goes - the box for writing forum posts is quite a bit larger now, much better in our opinion. Does this work for everybody else too, or should it be bigger still?

We added/activated a preview/html toggle link as well, for those who like that sort of thing.

I have sent two emails to Crestock about the slow review process. I have had imeges in there for well over 3 weeks. I have not received any reply back. Is this how you treat the contributors who help you make money?
