Cut in half, this photo is actually made up of mostly blur and very soft and relaxing colors. The little girl staring out the window is barely visible, but her expression comes through quite well. Lovely and soothing portrait with a touch of melancholy

This photo has a lot of problems. How can be this the best of?????????? 1. Overexposed 2. Tilted (not so big problem but it is) 3. The main subject's face is covered 4. Shallow DOF prevents the clear observation of rain (also defocuses the mouth so I'm asking where is the forte point - in focus - at the image?). What really makes me very angry is the fact that 10x better (and technically correct) photos got rejected with really stupid reasons.

Looks to me like the main point of interest is an over exposed elbow. Crop, composition and lighting is all wrong.
