Judge Ross, Todays Best Image
Todays Best Image

This piece looked a little odd to me at first; it's not exactly the kind of photo you see every day, but at second thought that is exactly what I liked about it. While a little odd, the way this idea has been brought to life in a realistic and seamless looking way. Photo manipulation working exactly the way it should, this photo has you realizing you're not looking at something real, while at the same time being impressed at the handiwork. The general color scheme, dominated by the background, also gives a very fortunate impression for this type of photo.

It is nice, but I don't think this is the best already...

Cool image! The machine has character.
By evan_ers on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 9:50 PM
Good image, interesting concept. But on a side note; why don't you just call these "This Week's Best" and "This Week's Worst" since it's something that you can't get to every day?

its not about the image:: Im sooo sick of your inspectors snobism. I was so glad that a lightning has hit most of them and put to the hospital or the grave and Crestock has accepted 150 of 150 of my images. And now you hired more of them. And turned snob mode on again. THERE IS NO UNCLEAN BACKGROUND ON MY LAST BATCH and no artifacts. iStockPhoto has accepted all of them. I dont know whats the point of what im saying. This dead place has made me 2 bucks in 4 months. Yes, this is the worst stock site. And this acception\rejection snobism really pisses everyone off

What is it actually? a grinder?
By k_tigress_g on Thursday, July 30, 2009 7:50 AM
Yep its a meat grinder. My dad uses one to make home made sausages.
Yep nice image with character and the edges are nicely blended in on the objects making it seamless.

Manipulation might be somehow but composition is missing, really missing.

Sure! A lot of money) I made 4 bucks in a half year here. Wile iStock(alone) every month makes it over a hundred. Well, except for the first month :) But now its stable.

are u kidding me?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!all of my pics rejected....
what is this image about?
By 350jb on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 12:48 AM
I fail to see the merit in this image. Is it a giant coffee bean, or an old shoe in the grinder? What is the gloppy stuff coming out? What is the market for this shot? If you are going to make a corny image, it should at least be a quick read.
By nooneshero on Monday, August 17, 2009 6:54 PM

I like the warm tones but not the compositon. Anyway I was looking for the image of the DAY! not the last image before you go out for holidays. Please give us advice if your are running away with our images!
a simple problem of Einstein's relativity
By arslonga on Thursday, August 20, 2009 4:30 PM
the problem is that Judge Ross is not human (that thing he has on the head is not a wig but tentacles used to see in the infra red spectrum (I let you imagine what really is that object similar to a hammer)). He is an alien living in the proximity of the horizon event of a black hole. So, according to the relativity laws, one of his days for us is more or less one year. :)

very nice
By hurricanehank on Monday, October 19, 2009 7:41 PM
I am not surprised at all that the best photo of the day looks like this according to that 97 of my photos were rejeced and only 17 approved, while shutterstock, dreamstime, fotolia, stockxpert, istock and many others accepted nearly all of these photos and are selling them pretty well.

PS: I'm not trying to offend the author of the pic, but I say that crestock has some kind of strange taste...

PSS: My accepted photos were not better, but even worse that som many of the rejected I think...
