Why do I take pictures:
Photography allows me to share the world as I see it with my daughter, who is legally blind. Much of my photographic style (stark contrasts of color and darkness, pronounced depth of field) has developed because of my desire to help her see what she cannot see under ordinary circumstances.
When I don't photograph, I...:
am cooking great meals, taking spur-of-the-moment road trips, finding the best barbecue, attending outdoor concerts and festivals, browsing farmer's markets, watching University of Oklahoma football, advocating peace and social justice, and above all else loving my beautiful kids.
My favourite photographer, and why:
Annie Leibovitz simply because she was a pioneering female rock photographer who inspired numerous women to become more than just children and wedding portraitists.
