as music producer and graphic designer this was a special time to do what i do everyday , to design music in both ways , adding images to music and music to images , thanks again to all who supported my work since the first round , this was a very challenging contest and after being recognized only as honorable mention in the first round i pushed myself to my limits to do better images for the last 2 rounds ,

nice way to sum up the contest by picking a winner who never used any the supplied stock images, sums up this contest compeletly!
photoshop contest in 2006 + 2007 bread alot of creativity and technical skill with excellent works from the images crestock supplied.

this was nothing more than a glamourise snoop dogg and promote his new album, so a contest that had built a good prestigeous reputation is nothing more than a sell out to a washed up rap artist trying to sell music off of johnny cash\'s back. what can we expect of 2009, more of the same?

none of the 3 winners used the stock in anything more than background content to fill up the space, so in the end wasnt really a contest to see who could be the most creative, apply the best technical photoshop or artistic skills was it? im guessing the reason why more snoop images were supplied in the final resource pics was to encourage desingers to include him more. but hey, the winner in this round cheated? found a picture than designers have no copyrights to use. than werent available to all participants. as did no.2, and i hope crestock get sued for image no.3 by who ever owns the rights to the image of johnny cash used. it\'d be what this contest deserves.

Well, I dunno how I didn't even make it to the honorable mentions. My only guess is cause I used the images from round 1.

this contest was god awful, crestock please dont ever hold another contest again.

I'm assuming the people bitching didn't make the cut. Well neither did mine, but I'm not surprised with the caliber of the winners entries. Amazing work on the top two entries in particular.

yeah it does seem this contest was a bit bs. I see the #1 job being good and all, but it doesnt really have that much to do with the stock images given. like for example I doubt that snoop picture as a cowboy is copyright free? there was a lot of problems with copyrights on this contest and it just goes to show that respecting the law doesn't get you so far. other rounds had similar problems.
but this contest is always with its share of bad blood - I guess it's the nature of the competition..

...is what the top entries designers have under their arsenal: the ABILITY TO MANIPULATE SOURCE IMAGES, and turn them into design elements looking like photos not provided by Crestock, is another of the multiple assets a designer using Photoshop as a graphic tool, MUST master this days in order to difference their hard work from the average user/designer.

Congratulations to all participants, i am sure you all had a great time preparing your submissions, right?

probably because your one of the winners or a friend of a winner.
the only persons in need of a optometrist are the judges.

i would hardly describe the winners as \'amazing\' and yes i can see how the winners used the stock.

stock used in rnd.1 the silhoutte of the woman at the bottom of the stars, faded (probably about 75% opacity)

stock used in round 2: womans face and roullette wheel faded in to the Bg, (opacity probably about 15%)

overall winner, used the fence from the picture of the car and duplicated it for a BG, and used the image of lighs which i thinks is overlaed to look like stupid srings that dont fit in with the image.
oh and the ghost of a womans face in the top right corner and the ghost of a womans crotch in the top left.

its one thing to take the stock supplied and be creative with it and apply good technical skill. using other copyrighted images and throwing the stock into the BG because you dont have god enough ideas to use it, is another. none of 3 winners are deserved.

I had fun making Snoop Dogg Wals. j909 (first place) had a great concept going. My only problem with it was that I didn't think of it first ;). Thanks for the kudos, man. For my money, I thought you deserve first. The concept was good, the image manipulation is great, and the stock photos were used well. There was sme good talent on display here.

Do you really know what is the point of this contest.

1. To see our creativity and ability to manipulate any stock image. or
2. To see our creativity and ability to manipulate stock images that given by CRESTOCK.

I don't see ability change opacity of an image is a BIG or a superb trick in photoshop.

What I see from all the comments is, I believe most of them try to manipulate "the given images" to win this contest, but when the resul came...most of them win with "DIFFERENT IMAGES"

Also can I just state that no8 made it into top ten How?? Lets see NO USE of stock used, I can totally feel the country and urban in it....NOT. Sorry but if thats how you chose entries then you negate your ruleset in the first place and have wasted a large number of individuals time including myself. I want compensation in the form of you never making another competition or at least doing it correctly the next time instead of half assing everything. AND yes number 1 did use the stock images to those who are too clueless to look closely.

Included was the Ego Trippin CD and several singles too, I'm diggin the "My kid is the Shiznet" stickers LOL, and the huge Snoop Dogg doll. I just wanted to say thanks to Crestock and everyone involved to have a contest like this. Again, cool stuff!
